I am Philip Mohan and I am one of many coaches at Ipswich Valley Rangers (IVR) Football Club, a club formed in 2007 and now with over 30 teams. The club has strong core values which have helped the club grow quickly. The club supports local charities, it is a community club but above all it is not a "win at all cost" club. It encourages all the players to try as hard as they can and for the coaches to coach the players to become the best that they can be. The club expects everyone, coaches, players and parents to sign up to the “respect agreement” set out by the club. The club also wants everyone to enjoy football.
The main charity supported by IVR is the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (each) the club supports the great work done in looking after children who are not fortunate enough to be able to play the great game of football.
Last year I decided to embark on the Charitable Road to Wembley with my son Thomas and daughter Charlotte who both play for teams at IVR. Our target was to go to each round of the F A Cup, starting with a local team, and following the winning team to the next round. At every game we try to raise as much money for EACH. Once we get to the final we will let one of the children go to the Wembley showcase.
